Former Motown recording artists, DeJaVoux are back to stealing the scene! Straight out of Brooklyn, NY, these bona fide sisters are the real thing: true performers and polished professionals of their craft. Cheryl’s smooth, poignant vocal style and Crystal’s funky hip hop influence create the perfect mélange of R&B soul.
From 1994 until 1996, the sisters were signed with Motown as members/songwriters of the R&B group DeJaVoux. There, they wrote and recorded songs in preparation of the release of their debut album while working with musicians such as Something for the People, Buckshot from Blackmoon, veteran Larry Gold, Kenny Whitehead from the Whitehead Brothers, and Grammy award-winning Rodney Jerkins.
Since 1995, DeJaVoux has performed on many stages throughout the nation. Shortly after receiving their deal, the duo decided to move forward on their own, opening for acts such as Jon B, Adina Howard, Nice & Smooth, D-Train, The Force MD’s, The Ladies of SKYY, Colonel Abrams, Melba Moore, and Johnny Kemp.
They continue to work with Independent Artists such as Winner of Missy Elliots Road to Stardom Jessica Betts, Americas Got Talents Kyle Rifkin, Making Da Bands Rich McMichael, Gospel newcomer Tre Thomas, & R&B Sensation Nathaniel. Known for compelling the crowd with unique renditions of old and new favorites you can’t help but groove to, their work with countless producers such as Dennis “Dgatez” McCalla, & Jeremy “Yogi” Graham has prepared them to take their own creative direction.
In October 2011, DeJaVoux released a remake of Evelyn Champagne King’s ‘I’m In Love’ on the TE Music Team Mix-Tape ‘Metamorphosis’ with Various Artists. On March 31, 2012 the ladies released their single ‘Alright, Alright’ on Interscopes Digital Distribution Division and currently in rotation on Independent Radio stations. The single can be heard on jango.com, and has reached #8 in the top 10 for ISB Radio (rhythmandsoulradio.com), as well as #10 on the Brooklyn, NY Reverbnation Charts.
Their latest single ‘Fantasize’ was released on March 31, 2013 and was placed in regular rotation on WVAV Radio in Lumpkin GA as well as jango.com (radioairplay). More recently, the Ladies earned a spot as one of the featured performers for Brooklyn Borough Presidents Free Summer Concerts at Boro Hall Plaza in Brooklyn NY Sponsored by Con Edison and were featured in Endee Magazine’s August & October 2013 issues. They were also chosen as the Artist of the Month for Spoken Visionz Magazine’s October 2013 issue.
The sophomore album ‘DeJaWho?’ was released November 6, 2013, and is available for download on iTunes, Amazonmp3, Rhapsody, Xbox Music and more. Hardcopies of the CD are available on dejavouxmusic.com. Music from the CD can be heard on some of the stations listed below.
