Adam Idris: “Count On Me” – rich with influences and thoughts
Formerly known as Adamjlss, Adam Idris is musician and composer based in the United Kingdom. Almost a freshman to the scene, Idris started recording and making music seriously in 2016. Entrenched in the urban genres and blending R&B, Pop and Dance elements, the artist has a host of singles in circulation, including “Count on me”, “I’m incarcerated” and Power hungry”.
The songs are by turn oblique, smolderingly direct, forlorn, funny, sad and gorgeous: a vertiginous marvel of digital-age urban pop. On the lead single, “Count On Me” Adam wraps his voice in woozy emotion and pivots in the space of just a few lines between lover-man braggadocios to caring mournfulness.
To release singles as spacious as these by Adam Idris takes confidence, and yet the deeper these tracks explored, the more it seems to be an acceptance of fragility. Adam trades the accessibility of his previous conventionalism for the accessibility of purified emotion.
The tracks are rich with influences and thoughts, and shaving them into cohesive entities has been well done. As filtered through emotion as it is, the slow-burning “Count On Me” feels thoroughly human, Adam’s voice driving a nail between eeriness and romance.
There’s a focus on the vibe of lo-fi confessionalism on “I’m Incarcerated”, though the production is undoubtedly hi-fi. The song rings with a singular voice, as Adam gets more personal than ever without connecting all the dots.
It’s a track of synthesized interests without sampling, without stealing, without influence-as-copyright. He absorbs his influences, pours them through a strainer, and then filters that product once again. Adam Idris is more than his voice, and this track sees him illustrate all the ways in which he’s a true artist.
Adam’s melodies are more attuned to specific states of mind rather than grand pop gestures. The words are a constant swirl of observation that he conveys in a variety of ways, from bursts of confident hip-hop cadence to classic R&B belting and wandering introspection.
On “Power Hungry” he makes yet another powerful social statement. He is storytelling and constructing a world of events around the theme of being power hungry. The textures are so dense and frequently fascinating that the song scans as meticulously constructed.

Complex and brilliantly engineered, the latest album from rock veteran Wayne Olivieri titled “Eclectic Mind” has a unique musical profile. Its structure is reflective of its complex content, songs that delve deep into the psyche of human emotion, touching on everything from God, hard times, happiness, and other topics. New Jersey, USA - 2017 - Born and raised in New Jersey, Wayne Olivieri has always had an affinity for music. Like many great vocalists, he sang in his church choir, who performed every Sunday. Olivieri started his first band in the 8th grade. As a young talented vocalist and songwriter, by age 17, he played in an all original band which he started with high School pal Gar Francis Rockids (which he was the frontman). They performed alongside unsigned young acts such as Talking Heads, The Ramones, and Blondie to name a few. The Rockids became a regular name on the marques of some of the hottest New York clubs ranging from CBGB's, Max's Kansas City, The Village Gate and many more. The Rockids went on to become one of the top drawing bands in the N.Y/N.J/CT club/concert scene often opening for national acts such as Aerosmith, Roger Mcquin, Twisted Sister and other great bands.
After a 5 year run with Rockids, Wayne moved to Asbury Park, NJ where he formed Oliver’s Twist with Rockid band mate Brian Hadley right as the scene was breaking with the sounds of Springsteen, South Side Johnny, and others. Oliver’s Twist became a force in the NJ Asbury Park scene playing regular shows at the Famous Stone Pony and The Fast Lane where they opened for many national acts such as Billy Idol. Huey Lewis , David Johnson, John Caferty, Cindy Lauper, J. Giels Band among other top groups. Oliver’s Twist had a fair amount of regional success as well as a number 4 radio charting hit in Belgium.
They made radio appearances, including a trip to London with The Howard Stern Show where Olivieri got to sit in with Howard for a week. It was also in Asbury Park where Wayne met and became fast friends with a young, unsigned singer John Bongiovi. John was a fan of The Rockids and Oliver’s Twist and the two remained tight friends. Olivieri played a friendly role as John’s confidant and adviser as well. Olivieri appeared on stage with John, known by fans as Jon, many times. He also appeared on stage with other rock and roll legends during that time, including Bruce Springsteen. After Oliver's Twist had it’s run, Olivieri attempted to reunite with Rockids co-founder Gar Francis and formed Oliver Wild and quickly got signed to Management by Premier Artist Services (Frank Sinatra and Liza Mimnelli, Joe Bonnamassa). However, over time when nothing significant materialized from that venture, Olivieri took a hiatus to get married, and raise his daughter. With his daughter currently in college, and his marriage ending in divorce, he has returned to writing and performing. With his new album, Olivieri has brought the energy, creativity, and most importantly, the material needed to craft his inspirational and heartwarming “Eclectic Mind”. This could be described as an album that feels like a songwriter had their entire life to craft it.
This is by far Olivieri's strongest presentation to date, and brilliantly marks his evolution as a songwriter and individual. Each song is crafted with care, and every line written with the intent of relating to the listener on a personal level. The music's rich sound is reminiscent of classic blues and rock, and its complex sound highlights the rigors that every human deals with at some point during their existence.
A fully-fleshed 13-track LP, “Eclectic Mind” with track names ranging from “I'm Broke Again” to “I'm in Love Again”, and even one titled “Mom”, gives the listener an idea of what it means to relate to the songwriter. Olivieri seems to bring a rich inner life and the ability to craft positive vibes, even during the dark times which is rare in today’s music industry. Wayne Olivieri (Wayne O) has been singing since the fourth grade when he joined the Saint Mary's Boys Choir from Plainfield NJ.He grew up singing at church every Sunday and performing concerts with the choir.
After 8th grade he started his first band and never looked back..............All through high school years he was singing in a band.......And at the age of 17 was playing full time in clubs in New York City like CBGB's, Max's Kansas City, The Lime Lite ,The Village Gate and more. Playing on the same bill as The Ramones, The Talking Heads, Blondie, and a plethora of others. He performed up and down the east coast and Moved to Asbury Park NJ where he performed at legendary clubs like The Stone Pony , The Fast Lane and others.
It was there where he met and became good friends with John Bongiovi (Jon Bon Jovi). Wayne and Jon stayed friends for over 17 years and performed many times next to Jon and the band. Opening shows etc…He became a regular at The Stone Pony ......one of the most famous rock Clubs in the world at the time(and still is) where he opened and headlined many times for acts like David Johansson, Huey Lewis, Southside Johnny , Cindy Lauper, Beaver Brown, Rick Derringer, Billy Idol and many more.
Wayne Continued to play in Europe and America over the years then took some time off to start a family and raise his daughter. After a long hiatus (and divorce) Wayne is happy to be back writing and recording with new found energy and creativity.
This album is his third release on Oneway Records which Wayne started in 2014.
Savannah Philyaw is a young singer, songwriter, and performer from San Diego. Writing a blend of indie pop, folk, americana, and country style songs, Savannah has recently written a collection of songs for Warner Bros TV Productions. After releasing 3 EPs over the past 4 years, Savannah is working on her first full length CD for release in the Fall of 2017. Since beginning her music career at age 15, she has shared the stage with many acts such as Howie Day, Tyler Hilton, Bethany Joy Lenz, Kate Voegele, Max Frost, Tronye Wells and Lee DeWyze. She has co-written with San Diego’s Calman Hart and Multi-Platinum Songwriter Michael Natter. Savannah quotes, “Music is not what I do, it’s who I am”.

Sam is a 20-year-old pop/folk singer-songwriter who has gained national recognition as a finalist on American Idol’s 2014 Season where he placed in the Top 5. Independent Grammy-winning producer Danny Blume produced and recorded an EP "Pretend" containing Sam's originals for release. It debuted at #9 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart.
He was a featured performer at a couple of Alex Preston's concerts in New Hampshire, co-headlined with the Doobie Brothers, War, and Jefferson Starship, opened for We The Kings and has performed extensively at other public and private venues in Florida. He has toured and performs regularly throughout the Northeast with the Como Brother’s Band, and was featured on a track of the Como Brother’s EP, Live at 89 North. They have upcoming shows in Connecticut and New York. Sam is currently writing a set of pop originals with Israeli musical prodigy/guitarist Meshorer.
